Orano TN, a subsidiary of Orano USA, is a leader in the American market for used nuclear fuel storage, radioactive waste management and fuel transportation logistics. The company offers a complete line of products and related services to the transportation, storage, and engineering sectors operating in the fuel cycle materials market.
Orano TN, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking a Civil/Construction Project Engineer to support the design, procurement, construction, installation and inspection of systems and components associated with various spent nuclear fuel storage systems. For Horizontal Storage Modules (NUHOMS, EOS, MATRIX): Prepare the procurement specifications and design drawings, review the concrete contractor's documents (material testing reports, drawings, routers, special process procedures, inspection and test procedures, etc.), prepare design changes and non-conformance evaluations as required during fabrication, and provide technical direction and oversight to subcontractors. Similar responsibilities for fabrication of steel structures and embedments that are installed in the precast concrete structures. Provide technical assistance to the customer for design of the concrete pad to support the HSMs, and the layout of the modules on the pad. Oversee and provide technical assistance to the subcontractor or the owner who erects the precast units at the power plant's spent fuel storage facility.
Additional job responsibilities will include the following:
- Support development of new concrete module designs or improve existing ones, with particular attention to practical design considerations including ease of casting, transporting, and installing, and incorporating lessons learned in the field.
- Design and evaluate structures, systems, and components to adhere to industry design codes such as ASME BPVC, ACI-349, AISC 360, etc.
- Interface with designers, project engineers and analytical disciplines to ensure the constructability of the design.
- Review rebar/construction drawings.

Please Note: The provided pay information is a guideline. Your offered salary is based upon experience, qualifications, geographic location, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay Range: $80,000-95,000 per year
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position:
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Structural), plus 0-2 years related experience. An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years and (PhD) may substitute for 2-3 years of related work experience. In applicable states a PE license will be accepted in lieu of a 4 year engineering degree.
- Demonstrated background where quick thinking and problem solving plays a critical role
- Excellent organization, planning and priority setting skills
- Ability to communicate well with vendors, customer and regulatory authority
- Experience with mix designs, rebar detailing, batching and placement of concrete
- Experience with precast or cast in place concrete in nuclear or DOT environment
- Flexible with short-term site/field assignments as Field Engineer (from a few days up to 6 months total duration).
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position:
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- Familiarity with Design, Analysis and Testing
- Experience with ACI 318, ACI 349, ASTM C94 and PCI Manual Experience or coursework using AWS D1.1 welding code
- Experience or coursework using AISC standards for steel structures
- Experience or coursework in construction management
- Experience or coursework on design and stress analysis for reinforced concrete structures
