By joining the Orano Group, you will be a part of a leading international player in the nuclear industry. Our strengths? Across the entire fuel cycle, we have extensive expertise in cutting-edge technologies, safe, high value-added products and services, and a strong capacity for innovation.
Overview
Step into a career-defining opportunity with Orano USA, a global leader in nuclear innovation, as we launch Project IKE—a cutting-edge uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Senior Systems Integration & Interface Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of building one of the most advanced clean energy infrastructures in the country.
This isn't just another Senior Systems Integration & Interface Engineer role. You’ll support the IKE project, a complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering effort requiring rigorous interface definition, integration planning, and cross‑functional coordination. This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, requirements management, and multi‑disciplinary integration of a multi-billion-dollar facility that will power America's energy independence. You will serve as a technical leader ensuring that interfaces across mechanical, electrical, software, and partner systems are clearly defined, controlled, and successfully integrated throughout the project lifecycle
If you’re ready to lead with purpose, solve big engineering challenges, and leave a legacy in sustainable energy—Project IKE is calling.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development, documentation, and management of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and interface requirements.
- Coordinate technical interfaces across mechanical, electrical, software, and external partner systems.
- Facilitate integration planning, risk identification, and issue resolution across engineering teams.
- Ensure interface requirements are traceable, testable, and aligned with system‑level architecture.
- Support system architecture development, requirements decomposition, and verification planning.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for interface‑related discussions with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Drive consistency, clarity, and configuration control across all interface artifacts.
- Contribute to integration strategies, system-of-systems analyses, and design reviews.
This position requires access to classified national security information. In accordance with U.S. government regulations governing such access, only U.S. citizens (natural born or naturalized) are eligible for a security clearance. All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including work involving system interfaces, integration, or cross‑disciplinary coordination.
- Experience developing or managing interface requirements, ICDs, or integration plans.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse engineering domains.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, ideally including systems engineering responsibilities.
- Experience with system architecture frameworks, interface management tools (Cameo, SysML, DOORS, 3D CAD tools), and configuration management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead integration efforts across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
Who Thrives in This Role
Because interface engineering is a skillset developed through experience— not a formal academic path—we welcome candidates with diverse engineering backgrounds who have repeatedly worked at the boundaries between systems. If you have a track record of making complex systems work together, coordinating across disciplines, and owning interface definitions, we want to hear from you.
